Help with Flag Lending Service Request Form

The Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage is very pleased to offer our unique lending services to non-profit groups, organizations and provincial government departments within Nova Scotia. To ensure that we adequately serve all organizations interested in using this service, we have established the following guidelines.

  1. Any organization wishing to borrow flags, poles, and/or bases
    must provide us with the appropriate information required to complete our lending form as follows;
    1. Organization Name
    2. Contact Person (The person who will be responsible to replace items on behalf of the organization, should the items become lost or damaged)
    3. Complete Mailing Address and Telephone Number
    4. Name, Date and Location of the Event
    5. Date of Pick up and Return

  2. All flags, poles and bases are for inside use only.

  3. Due to our small inventory of flags, poles and bases, the equipment can only be borrowed for a period of (3) three days. We suggest that organizations call to reserve the flag equipment for their specific event well in advance of the event.

  4. When an organization borrows from the Tourism, Culture and Heritage's Flag Lending Service, the organization assumes full responsibility for the cost of replacing any or all equipment that is lost or damaged. If a courier is used to pick up or return the equipment, the organization remains responsible for the equipment during transit.

  5. The organization is responsible to return the equipment at the agreed upon time. This is imperative as other organizations may be waiting for the equipment for their event.

  6. All flags must be returned clean, folded and/or on hangers and poles and bases returned in the same condition as they are received. It is not appropriate to return a flag bundled in a ball or soiled. If the flags are returned soiled, they will be cleaned and pressed and the organization will be billed for the cost.
