What Does the Natural Products Marketing Council Do?
 
The Council has responsibilities for:
  • stimulating and improving production and marketing of farm products;
  • ensuring that orderly marketing and supply management are conducted in best interests of producers, the agri-food industry and the public;
  • facilitating the establishment and development of marketing boards and
  • advising government on orderly marketing issues.
Council carries out these responsibilities by:
  • supervising the operation of marketing boards;
  • promoting progressive marketing board governance;
  • assisting marketing boards in making their operations and regulations responsive to changing industry conditions;
  • investigating and settling disputes among industry players and
  • co-operating with federal, provincial and producer agencies at the interprovincial and national levels.
