Elections NWT conducts and administers general elections, by-elections and plebiscites in the Northwest Territories according to legislation enacted by the Legislative Assembly. Its principal mandate is to educate, inform and empower all eligible electors and candidates in the Northwest Territories to exercise their democratic right accorded to them in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, so that they may participate fully in the election process.
