MLA for Eastern Shore

Birth

January 24, 1956, in Musquodobit Harbour.

Education

Graduated from Eastern Shore District High School and educated in the bank management trainee program.

Employment History

Worked in banking in Cape Breton and Halifax. Returned to Nova Scotia and established a construction and development company 25 years ago.

Political Career

Elected as a councillor in 1994 to represent District 10 of Halifax County; Re-elected as councillor in 1995 to represent District 1 (Eastern Shore-Musquodoboit Valley); First elected to the House of Assembly in July 1999, re-elected in August 2003 and in June 2006. Appointed deputy House Leader in September 2003. He was appointed Minister of Energy in February 2006. 

Family

Married to Colette Williams. Together they have one son, three daughters and one granddaughter.
