Home DUI AND ADMISSIBILITY DUI/Criminally Inadmissable Fact Sheet For Alaskans

FACT SHEET: U.S. Citizens with DUI/Criminal Record Who Wish to Visit/Travel through Canada

Secuirity and enforcement at the Canada-United States border has heightened in recent years.  For this reason, more U.S. citizens with past criminal charges or convictions, including DUI, are refused entry into Canada.

More details on criminal inadmissibility and how to overcome criminal inadmissability can be obtained at the following link: /can-am/seattle/rightnav/temporary_instructions-en.asp

Applicants from Alaska should apply through the Immigration Section of the Canadian Consulate General in Seattle. The Canadian Consulate in Anchorage does not process these matters.

To contact the Immigration Section of the Canadian Consulate General, you may send an e-mail to Seattle-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca or a fax to (206) 441-7838.

Please ensure that your e-mail or fax is clear and concise. Include your name, date of birth, and-if you have previously made an application-your file number. As the office receives hundreds of enquiries every week, you may not receive an immediate response.
