Cooperative Development
Services (CDS)
- The
Cooperative
Development Services (CDS) provided by
the Government of Manitoba provides pathfinding to new and expanding co-ops in
matters relating to incorporation, bylaws relative to governance,
compliance with co-op legislation, and programs and services
available to assist in the start up and expansion process.
Other Co-op Support Organizations
- Other Co-op Support Organizations
are government and non government organizations that have mandates
for the development of co-ops and promotion of the co-op model of
organization

Bylaws
- The following list of democratic control / governance bylaws and their lists of options have been developed by the Registrar of Cooperatives as models for use by co-ops. They must be customized by each co-op to suit its particular needs by selecting the appropriate options. Changes to the bylaws other than those outlined on the option sheet are subject to the approval of the Registrar.
- Bylaws must be approved by the members of a newly incorporated co-op at their first meeting and sent to the Registrar within 30 days of the meeting. Amendments to the bylaws must be sent to the Registrar within 30 days of the meeting at which the amendments were approved by the members.
