Hurricane Products for Mobile Devices

Since more and more Canadians use mobile communication devices to stay in touch with email, news, sports scores, and stock quotes; the Canadian Hurricane Centre has created specially formatted versions of its hurricane products for mobile devices.

During each hurricane season (from June 1 - November 30) the Canadian Hurricane Centre will provide mobile access to all of their hurricane and tropical storm information statements, watches and warnings bulletins. This new service will allow anyone with an Internet enabled (i.e. 1x, WAP) mobile device to view the latest hurricane forecasts as soon as they are issued.

To access these products, simply visit http://www.hurricanecentre.ca with your mobile device's microbrowser, and a special mobile friendly web page (like you see in the cellphone graphic) will be displayed.

Please note that you should not rely totally on forecasts from this service because:

• This is a new service that started on September 1, 2004 and interruptions are to be expected while we fine-tune the service.
• This service may not be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Therefore the timely delivery of forecasts is not guaranteed.
