Government On-Line: Serving Canadians Better
Mission accomplished! The Government On-line initiative (October 1999 - March 2006) met its objectives.
Canadians, businesses and international clients are now:
- provided with a more accessible government, where information and services are organized according to their needs, and are available 24/7 around the world, in English or French;
- delivered better and more responsive services as 130 of the most commonly used services are now available on line;
- offered electronic transactions that are protected and secure while their personal information is safeguarded.
Reference material on this site is provided for historical purposes as the Government On-Line initiative is closed and the site will not be updated. It comprises a chronicle of the main activities of the Government On-Line initiative, a description of the 130 targeted most commonly used services that are now on-line, information on projects that were allocated central funding, a list of reference documents and links to related topics or organizations.
