CommunAction.ca is:
- A Web site in progress targeting official language minority communities to find programs and services supporting economic and community development offered by:
- Industry Canada, including initiatives such as FedNor (the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario); and
- Regional economic development agencies such as:
Industry Canada promotes economic growth and job creation in order to improve the standard of living and quality of life for all Canadians. Canada has more than 900 official language minority communities, and Industry Canada lis working to help these communities contribute to the country's economic development. Under Part VII, Section 41, of the Official Languages Act, the Department's objective is to maximize the participation of official language minority communities in its existing programs and services.
