On August 11, 2006, Public Works and Government Services Canada issued a fraud alert to businesses across Canada advising that individuals are making fraudulent use of Business Access Canada (BAC) letterhead to obtain confidential financial information from businesses across Canada.

Business Access Canada
Business Access Canada (formerly Contracts Canada) is an inter-departmental initiative to improve supplier and buyer awareness and simplify access to federal government purchasing information. Currently there are 31 participating departments and agencies (see Business Access Canada partners).
