The Canadian Museum of Civilization's IMAX^® Theatre was the first theatre in the world to combine both an IMAX screen and an IMAX Dome. The giant IMAX screen, approximately seven-stories high, shows an image of stunning clarity. The IMAX Dome extends the experience even further by surrounding the visitor with brilliant, absorbing images.

This unique theatre holds 295 people with seats that tilt back to allow the viewer a comfortable and comprehensive view. The extraordinary films presented at the IMAX Theatre are yet another means by which the Canadian Museum of Civilization gives visitors an understanding of human history and different cultures. What happens in the Theatre is so realistic, that no one leaves untouched by the places, people and times they have visited.
