Celebration of Fall at the Canada Agriculture Museum

Highlights in October at the Canada Agriculture Museum include Harvest Weekends. with special activities centred around Canada’s bountiful harvest, A Barnyard Hallowe’en on Sunday, October 29, and a variety of daily demonstrations such as “cooking” for cows, wool carding and learning about poultry with the “poultry quiz”.

Harvest Weekends in October
In addition to daily demonstrations such as cow washing or care, feeding the sheep and afternoon milking, the Museum will present special weekend activities centred around Canada’s bountiful harvest with the Apple “Orchard” and the Corn Corner on September 30, October 1, October 7-9 (Thanksgiving weekend), October 14-15 and October 21-22.

A Barnyard Hallowe’en Sunday, October 29, 2005
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Boo! Children will love the museum’s Barnyard Hallowe’en, with a trick-or-treat scavenger hunt in the barns, sweet treat making and tasting, games, a costume parade around the grounds and pumpkin decorating ($1 while supplies last). All Hallowe’en activities except pumpkin decorating are included with the price of admission. Tally-Ho Wagon Rides ($) will also be available throughout the event, weather permitting.

Special Invitation to Seniors
Here is the perfect chance to share an adventure with your favourite senior. Every Tuesday from now until October, seniors (60+) will be admitted free.

Every day, visitors can learn more about Canadian agriculture and about the food and fibres that make our way of life possible.

• On weekends, visitors can learn about Corn Bread Making in the Demonstration Kitchen, Apple Cider Making and Apple Crisp Making in the Small Animal Barn.

• Tally-Ho Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides on weekends (weather permitting, $)
• The Hot Potato Company will provide food services on
