Best Quality at the Best Price
(Continuing Care)

A series of papers developed at the request of the federal, provincial and territorial Ministers responsible for Seniors. It offers a review of ways of measuring and achieving high quality service for the best price in the field of continuing care. "Quality" includes professional standards, training requirements, financial management requirements, outcome indicators and the quality improvement process; "best price" reflects "value for money". The papers reflect some of the differences across the country but also a great deal of common ground. In the papers, quality is always of prime importance while best price may be dealt with by more standard expenditure control practices.
