Buyers or sellers of goods or services who suspect they have received inaccurate measurement and who have been unable to resolve their concern with the other party to the transaction may request to have Measurement Canada investigate the matter.

Complaints
Measurement Canada will investigate the complaint, institute corrective action if the measuring instrument used in the transaction does not measure accurately and advise the complainant of the results of the investigation.

Disputes
A buyer or seller of electricity or natural gas may be dissatisfied with the reading of a measuring instrument which may not be an accurate reflection of the good purchased or consumed, the measuring instrument may not have been installed properly or the disagreement may regard the actual type or condition of the measuring instrument itself. The dissatisfied person may request to have the matter investigated by a Measurement Canada inspector according to the dispute resolution process we administer.
