Every year since the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages was established, each Commissioner of Official Languages has tabled a report in Parliament on the Activities carried out by the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages in the previous year: the Annual Report. It is a bilingual publication that informs parliamentarians and Canadians about the status of official languages in Canada. The Annual Report also contains recommendations made to ensure full compliance with the provisions of the Official Languages Act.
These annual reports are just one of the tools that provide the government with a framework to achieve continuous improvement and tangible, lasting and measurable results in the area of official languages. They are also evidence of the Commissioner's concern for the well-being of official language minority communities.
On May 9, 2006, Dr. Dyane Adam, Commissioner of Official Languages, tabled
her seventh Annual Report. You can consult the report in its entirety on this website (html version or PDF format (2.32 Mb)). You can also consult our press release online.
