The Evaluation Services Division administers the Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS)
PLANS includes provincial, national, and international student assessments.
Provincial assessments are conducted in elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. In senior high schools, provincial assessments are administered as Nova Scotia Examinations (NSE).
Elementary and junior high language literacy and mathematical literacy assessments are uniquely assessments "for learning."*
The Evaluation Services Division develops, administers, and marks assessments and reports on results for both Anglophone and Acadian/Francophone students in Nova Scotia.
