Welcome to the Meteorological Service of Canada's Atlantic Regional web site for air quality forecast services. Research indicates that poor air quality has the potential to seriously affect the environment, health and economy of all Canadians, as a result, Clean Air is one of the major priorities of the Government of Canada.
The information available on this site is meant to raise awareness of the air quality challenges within Atlantic Canada so that residents can make informed decisions to protect themselves, their families and the environment. Here you can access up-to-date forecasts, advisories and current conditions, as well as other useful resources with plenty of information on topics related to air quality.
This state-of-the-art forecast program began as a national pilot project in Saint John, New Brunswick, in 1997 and is now the model for similar programs in other provinces.

The regional Air Quality Forecast Program will resume on May 1, 2007. However, Environment Canada, in
partnership with the Atlantic Provincial Departments of Environment, is pleased to announce that the provision of the hourly observation service and other air quality and health information will continue to be available at this site throughout the fall and winter months.
