OHS Advisory Council

The Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Council advises the Minister of Environment and Labour on occupational health and safety matters. Functions of the Advisory Council include:

The Minister appoints Council members based on their knowledge and experience relating to the protection and promotion of occupational health and safety generally. Membership on the Council includes equal representation from employers and employees. Alternate members are appointed and act in place of members. Representatives from the Workers’ Compensation Board and the Department’s Occupational Health and Safety Division also serve on the Advisory Council. Members and alternates hold office for a prescribed period.
