YARMOUTH COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
 
Employment Position:  DIRECTOR
 
 
Situated in the historic seaport town of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, the award-winning Yarmouth County Museum and Archives Complex comprises a museum which holds significant national and provincial collections in nautical and general history fields, and archives / research centre, and an historic house, and modern storage and education wings.
 
Accountable to the Board of Directors of the Yarmouth County Historical Society, and acting in accordance with the constitution, by-laws and established policies of the Board, the Director has the overall responsibility for the administration and management of the operation, capital assets of the Society, Museum, and Archives.
 
The position requires a dynamic leader who has strong people focus, and is able to introduce innovative initiatives while embracing the traditions and heritage of Yarmouth County. The ideal candidate is capable of marketing the museum and archives, developing business plans, and insuring the continual financial success of the organization, in all its aspects. A passion for history and experience in a volunteer organization are valuable assets.
