Before you send a comment or question to CWS

  • We invite you to read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Web page. Many of your questions may already have been answered. If your inquiry remains unanswered, please be specific. General questions will be returned to you for more information about what you would like to know.
  • CWS handles wildlife matters that are the responsibility of the federal government. We are not responsible for wildlife matters such as the conservation and management of wildlife populations and habitat within provincial/territorial borders or for issuing licenses and permits for fishing, game hunting, or trapping. To find out "Who does what", again our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Web page can help you. For more information on the role of CWS, you can visit our Focus on the Canadian Wildlife Service Web page.
  • Your homework is yours to do. We are happy to help you identify print and Internet references or to find a particularly elusive answer, but our help should supplement your own research. We cannot meet last-minute deadlines.
  • For information on copyright permissions or the reproduction of photos, please consult the legal notices Web page.
  • For information concerning job opportunities in the federal Public Service, go to Federal Government Jobs on the Government of Canada Web site.
  • If you are contacting us to request a change of address on a Canadian Wildlife Service publication mailing list, you must specify the name of the series of publications or newsletter that you are receiving, and you must include your old address with the postal code and the identification code (addressee I.D.) that shows on the address label.
