Following the events of 12 July in southern Lebanon, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has issued the following advice to Canadians in Syria, Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and Jordan:
- Canadians are advised against all travel to areas near the Lebanese border
- Canadians should maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times, as the security situation could deteriorate rapidly without notice
- Canadians should also monitor local news broadcasts and avoid large gatherings and demonstrations
- Canadians should contact the Emergency Operations Centre or one of the Canadian embassies listed below at the following telephone numbers:
