ALLERGY ALERT

UNDECLARED CASHEWS IN DAILY DELIGHT PRODUCTS

OTTAWA, June 30, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to cashews not to consume the Daily delight products identified below. The affected products may contain cashews which are not declared on the label.

The following products are affected by this alert:

  1. Daily delight Masala Dosa, a product of India, sold frozen in boxes of 454 g bearing the lot code 26JYA and the UPCs 6 64648 22009 3,
  2. Daily delight Cutlet, a product of India, sold frozen in boxes of 454 g bearing the lot code 18KYA and the UPCs 6 64648 12011 9.

These products have been distributed in Mississauga, Ontario.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to cashews.
