UPDATE - ALLERGY ALERT

UNDECLARED MILK PROTEIN IN GOLD CHOICE BRAND INSTANT TONGKAT ALI GINSENG COFFEE PREMIX

List of imported products that contain undeclared milk protein

OTTAWA, July 25, 2006 - The public warning issued on July 21, 2006 has been expanded to include additional information on product distribution. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the Gold Choice brand Instant Tongkat Ali Ginseng Coffee Premix described below. The affected product contains milk protein which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, is sold in a 400 g package which contains 20 g X 20 sachets and bears the UPC 9 556555 000275. All batch codes are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and may have been distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.

The importers are voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
