Canada Savings Bonds 60^th Anniversary Celebration and 2006-2007 Campaign Launch

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will mark the 60th anniversary of Canada Savings Bonds and the launch of the 2006-2007 sales campaign on Monday, October 2nd, 2006 in the Grand Hall at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec. The event will begin at 10:00 am EDT.

Minister Flaherty will be joined by David Dodge, Governor of the Bank of Canada, Louise Montague, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Canada Investment and Savings; Jean Spear, Ottawa Coordinator for the Canadian War Brides; and youth storytellers Samantha Nielsen and Nicolas Tassé. They will explore 60 years of Canada Savings Bonds history with the introduction of an on-line interactive Virtual Exhibit in association with the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada.
