2006 IPOLC Competition Four short dramas in French from outside Quebec selected by Telefilm Canada, Radio-Canada and the National Film Board for development funding
Montréal, October 19, 2006 - Telefilm Canada, Radio-Canada and
the National Film Board of Canada are pleased to announce that four French-language
short drama projects have been chosen for development funding through Telefilm
Canada's Initiative 4 under the Interdepartmental Partnership with Official-Language
Communities (IPOLC).
This initiative offers writers, directors and producers working in French outside
Quebec the opportunity to hone their skills in TV drama production. It is also
aimed at expanding the pool of Francophone professionals and creators in provinces
other than Quebec.
The selected projects will receive financial support for the completion of
a first draft, including the director's treatment.
The selection committee composed of Telefilm Canada, Radio-Canada and National
Film Board of Canada representatives chose the following four projects:

IPOLC is an initiative of the Department of Canadian Heritage. Radio-Canada
partners by acquiring the regional and national broadcast rights to the programs.
The National Film Board acts as associate producer, and Telefilm Canada participates
as an investor.
