Membership Category There are five Retail Membership categories. Only the "Master Retailer - Stores" members have voting privileges; all other retail categories are non-voting memberships. Retail members enjoy a wide range of benefits and privileges including free admission to all CHFA tradeshows. Complete details of membership benefits are available on our website at www.chfa.ca.
MASTER RETAIL - STORES A retail store stocked with 50% or more of natural products and/or foods; which does not sell tobacco products; and which sells from verifiable retail premises (i.e. traditional health food and supplement stores).
Corporate head offices must list all secondary stores and calculate fees based on total sales of all stores. With the exception of one vote for the corporate head office, secondary stores are accorded all CHFA member benefits but no individual voting privileges. Franchise stores may apply separately for membership, if independently incorporated, in order to have voting privileges.
PROVISIONAL RETAIL - STORES A first-time membership for "Master Retail- Stores" not yet open, or stores in their first year of business. Provisional membership is only available once and is a non-voting membership.
ASSOCIATE RETAIL - STORES A retail store stocked with less than 50% of natural products and/or foods; or which sells to consumers without retail premises (i.e. grocery and dry-goods chain stores, multi-level marketing, internet sales). This is a non-voting membership.

ASSOCIATE RETAIL - CLINICS, GYMS, SPAS Natural health products, supplements and foods are sold as a compliment to the principal business. This is a non-voting membership.
ASSOCIATE RETAIL - HEALTH PRACTITIONERS Health practitioners selling natural health products and supplements as part of their principal business (i.e. Chinese, traditional, and herbal medicines, ND, MD, trainers). Practitioners are requested to provide a copy of their credentials. This membership is personal and not intended for clinics. This is a non-voting membership.
