Research Syntheses launched in July 2005
CIHR's Knowledge Translation Branch, the Institute of Health Services and Policy Research, the Institute of Population and Public Health, and the Institute of Genetics are pleased to announce the results of the Request for Applications (see table below) under the strategic initiative "Research Syntheses".
The objectives of this initiative are to:
- Make scoping reviews available to the health research community, including CIHR, to inform them of specific areas of priority for primary research.
- Increase the number of timely and relevant scoping reviews and systematic reviews in selected areas of high priority.
- Increase the degree to which explicit communications and knowledge translation activities are undertaken to make scoping and systematic reviews readily available for use by citizens, clinicians, healthcare managers, public policy-makers, researchers, NGO's and research funding organizations in Canada to inform their decision-making processes.
