STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF ROBIN COOK
Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew today issued the following statement following
the death of former British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook.
“Robin Cook was a brilliant mind in British politics. An articulate debater, he never
faltered to defend his beliefs with passion and conviction.
“Mr. Cook shared Canada’s views on defending civilians against tyranny and against
failed states. His leadership during the NATO campaign to protect the civilian
population of Kosovo will be especially remembered.”
“On behalf of all Canadians, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Cook’s
family and friends and to the British people whom he served with honour and dignity.”
