PUBLIC CONSULTATION SESSIONS PLANNED FOR REVIEW OF CANADIAN WHEAT BOARD ELECTORAL SYSTEM

OTTAWA, August 8, 2005 - The panel responsible for reviewing the system by which directors are elected to the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) is seeking input from producers and other key stakeholders at three public consultation meetings to be held by the end of this month.

The panel will host these meetings at the following locations:

Edmonton

Delta Edmonton Centre

Monday, August 15, 2005 - 2:00 to 8:00 pm


Saskatoon

Delta Bessborough
601 Spadina Crescent East
Wednesday, August 17, 2005 - 2:00 to 8:00 pm


Winnipeg

Fairmont Winnipeg
2 Lombard Place
Friday, August 19, 2005 - 2:00 to 8:00 pm


Panel members David Rolfe, Cecilia Olver and Greg Porozni, as well as Special Adviser Janice Baker, invite producers and farm organizations to meet with them at these meetings to address questions the Panel is considering during its review of the CWB elections system for producer Directors.
