MINISTER ANDY MITCHELL TO TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA FOR QUINT MEETING OF AGRICULTURE MINISTERS

OTTAWA, August 17, 2005 - Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Andy Mitchell will be traveling to Sanctuary Cove in Queensland, Australia, to participate in the meeting of the Quint from August 19 to 21. The meeting brings together agriculture ministers of five agriculture exporting nations, including Canada, the United States, the European Union, Japan and Australia. The goal of the Quint meeting is to further the dialogue among key agricultural exporters and importers concerning multilateral trade negotiations.
