Minister Dion to Visit Laboratory Ship Lampsilis in Trois-Rivières


Québec, August 5, 2005 — The Honourable Stéphane Dion, Minister of the Environment, will visit the laboratory ship Lampsilis during his visit to Trois-Rivières next Monday, August 8.

Since its launch last May, the Lampsilis has been an important tool attached to the Canada Research Chair in Freshwater Ecology at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR).

The Minister will take a short 60-minute excursion on the St. Lawrence off the City of Trois-Rivières. Media representatives are invited to accompany the Minister on board the Lampsilis. Since room on board is limited please note that places must be reserved by calling (418) 649-6510.

This visit will begin at 3:15 p.m. on the public wharf located at the end of rue des Forges, near the Trois-Rivières harbour park.
