Subject: New Annual Compliance Reporting Forms for DNSR Licensees

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is announcing changes to the Annual Compliance Reporting (ACR) requirements on all licences issued by the Directorate of Nuclear Substance Regulation (DNSR).The changes apply only to Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices licences and Class II Nuclear Facilities and Prescribed Equipment licences.

In 2003, the CNSC issued Draft Regulatory Guides on Annual Compliance Reporting for trial use and comment.Following the review period and for reasons of consistency and simplicity, it was decided that the requirements for annual compliance reporting would be better served as a part of each licence instead of as a general guide. These draft guides have now been removed from the CNSC website, and should not be used for annual compliance reporting.New ACR forms have replaced the forms in the draft guides, and are customized for each licensed activity.

All new, renewed or amended Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices licences will reference an ACR form in an appendix entitled Annual Compliance Reporting Form to the licence.Currently, Class II Nuclear Facilities and Prescribed Equipment licences make reference to an ACR form in Appendix B of the licence. All new, renewed or amended Class II licences will reference a modified ACR form in an appendix entitled Annual Compliance Reporting Form.

All new ACR forms can be viewed and downloaded from the Index to Annual Compliance Reporting Forms by Licensed Activity on the CNSC website.

Submitting Completed ACR Forms

Each licence has a licence condition specifying the due date when the ACR must be submitted. The completed ACR can be submitted to the CNSC in one of four ways:
