BACKGROUND BRIEFING ON PRIME MINISTER MARTIN'S VISIT TO ASIA


Senior government officials will hold a background briefing on January 12 to discuss Prime Minister Paul Martin's visit to Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Japan and China, including Hong Kong, from January 15 to 23, 2005.


Media representatives interested in attending but unable to be in Ottawa should call the Media Relations Office of Foreign Affairs Canada to participate in the event by teleconference.
