Prime Minister's Office - Communications Program
Citizenship and Immigration Minister Judy Sgro has resigned.
Prime Minister Paul Martin has announced the appointments of Joe Volpe as the new minister of Citizenship and Immigration and of Lucienne Robillard as minister of Human Resources and Skills Development. Lucienne Robillard retains her current roles as president of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada and minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. The swearing-in ceremony takes place today at Rideau Hall.
