Monday, March 06, 2006

Master Corporal Tim Wilson died of head injuries suffered in a collision with a civilian vehicle.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — One of six Canadian soldiers injured when their LAV III (light armoured vehicle) rolled over last Thursday died early yesterday in a U.S.-run hospital in Landstuhl, Germany.

Master Corporal Tim Wilson was originally from Grande Prairie, Alberta. His family was at his side when he died.

Corporal Paul Davis, another soldier injured in the same accident, died on the day the LAV III flipped over on the outskirts of Kandahar. Five other soldiers also suffered injuries.

The bodies of MCpl Wilson and Cpl Davis arrived yesterday at Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

Both soldiers belonged to Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, stationed in Shilo, Manitoba.
