Agreement in Principle Between STARF and CBC/Radio-Canada

We are very pleased to announce that the Syndicat des technicien(ne)s et artisan(e)s du réseau français de Radio-Canada (STARF) and CBC/Radio-Canada signed an agreement in principle yesterday to renew the collective agreement due to expire tomorrow.

STARF members will be informed of the details of this union-recommended agreement in the coming days. Information sessions have been scheduled for the first two weeks of April and all members will be able to vote on the agreement by direct or mail-in secret ballot before April 13.

STARF represents over 1,300 technical, production and trade staff in the province of Quebec and in Moncton, New Brunswick. This marks the third time in a row that STARF and CBC/Radio-Canada have managed to reach an agreement in principle before their collective agreement expired. Since 2003, STARF and CBC/Radio-Canada have adopted an interest-based bargaining approach, allowing the collective agreement to be renewed without dispute.
