Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced the creation of a commission of inquiry into the events surrounding the 1985 bombing of Air India flight 182. The commission will be mandated to hold public or in camera hearings and will not jeopardize ongoing criminal investigations or proceedings. Retired Supreme Court Justice John Major has been appointed as Commissioner.
