Property Online Toll-free Help Line: 1-866-518-4640

Property Online provides online access to land-ownership and related information, including property maps for more than 540,000 properties in Nova Scotia. This service is provided for subscribers, people or enterprises that regularly use land ownership and related property information:  provincial/federal government agencies, municipalities, law firms, surveying and engineering firms, real estate companies, financial institutions, consulting firms, and resource-based industries.

Lawyers intending to work in the new land registration system and planning to submit Parcel Description Certification Applications (PDCAs) and Applications for Registration (AFRs), and surveyors who plan to submit PDCAs will do so through Property Online and are required to subscribe to this service.

The following information is available from any computer with Internet access and can be queried by all subscribers:

  • Property ownership data on a province-wide basis (updated continuously as documents are processed by staff).
  • Assessment information on a province-wide basis (updated every two weeks).
  • 40 years of Grantor Grantee Index (GGI) information for all counties (updated continuously as documents are processed by staff).
  • Property tax information and betterment charges for various municipalities throughout the province (updated nightly), with links to order a tax certificate (provided in partnership with the municipalities). Note: Some municipalities restrict access to authorized lawyers.
