Census Challenge
The Census Challenge is designed to test your knowledge of Canada mainly using the results and data from past censuses.
There are two versions of the challenge. The Education Challenge is for learning purposes only. The iPod Challenge, while being educational, also gives you a chance to win a prize, including an iPod.
How the Census Challenge works
Each week, for three weeks, the person with the highest score will be contacted and awarded the appropriate prize for the challenge tried. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by a draw. Only one prize per entry will be awarded.
Prizes are as follows (iPod Challenge only):
Category | Prize |
Beginner | 2006 Census mouse pad |
Intermediate | 2006 Census mouse pad and coffee mug |
Advanced | Apple 30GB iPod Video |
Winners will be selected at midnight EST on the following dates:
- May 9 — Final results
- May 16 — Final results
- May 23 — Final results
Winners will be notified by email. A complete list of winners will be posted on this Web page on June 1, 2006.
In order to accommodate all participants, English or French iPods will be purchased after all winners have been selected and their language preferences determined.
The total number of correct answers and fastest time are both factors that determine how results are ranked.
