The Census and foreign embassies in Canada
The next Census of Canada will take place on Tuesday, May 16.
As in most other countries, the Canadian census does not include government representatives of another country attached to their embassy, members of the armed forces of another country stationed in Canada, or foreign visitors to Canada.
However, every household in Canada, including embassies and households where embassy staff live, will receive a census questionnaire in early May. If you are a government representative of another country, please help to ensure that every dwelling in Canada is counted by completing STEP A and the section of the 2006 Census form pictured below (found on page 3 of the short form or page 2 of the long form):

Everyone else in Canada must, by law, provide all the information requested in the census questionnaire.
