Minister's Biography
Welcome to the Website for Manitoba Labour and Immigration, where
you’ll find a wide range of information on the Department’s
programs and services.
Manitoba Labour and Immigration has an important role in furthering
the social, economic and cultural well-being of Manitobans. Our areas
of responsibility include labour relations, employment standards,
workplace safety and health, immigration and multiculturalism, public
safety, and employment pensions. The Department works to make our
province a safer place to work and live, to ensure employees are
treated fairly and equitably, and to foster a stable labour relations
climate where both businesses and workers can benefit. The Department
also works to increase immigration to Manitoba and to help newcomers
make our province their home. The Immigration and Multiculturalism
Division has a leading role in developing policies and programs to
promote immigration, such as the Provincial Nominee Program, and
coordinating the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees
into the social and economic life of Manitoba.
As we move forward in making Manitoba a better place to work and
live, there will be regular updates to our Website. I invite you to
visit this site often and hope you find it informative and useful. I
welcome your ideas and comments. Please let me know how we can improve
this site so that it continues to serve your needs, or if you have any
questions about our services.
