Overview Documents Links Sub-Groups

The Government On-Line Metadata Working Group advises Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) on metadata issues and develops guidance for federal departments and agencies. Several sub-groups study particular metadata-related subjects, such as search engines, tools, thesauri, e-learning metadata, and training. Membership includes representatives from over 28 departments. Monthly meetings are chaired by Nancy Brodie, Information Management Division, Chief Information Officer Branch, TBS. 

Sub-Groups

  • The Working Group establishes Sub-Groups to address particular topics and provide recommendations to the Working Group. 
  • Membership in the Sub-Groups is not limited to Working Group members. Departmental representatives with the required expertise are identified by Working Group members.
  • Sub-Groups normally have a specific deliverable and limited life.
  • Sub-Group Chairperson - Secretariat Tasks
