G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to Meet in Toronto on February 3-4

Finance Minister Paul Martin today announced that finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Seven leading industrialised countries will meet February 3-4 in Toronto. The Group of Seven comprises the United States, Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Canada.

Mr. Martin said that the finance ministers and central bank governors meet regularly as part of an ongoing process of macroeconomic policy consultation and cooperation. He added that these meetings usually entail a review of current global economic conditions and recent developments.
