Ottawa, October 20, 2005 Minister Proposes Reappointment of Chairperson of Canada Development Investment CorporationMinister of Finance Ralph Goodale today proposed the reappointment of Donald McQueen Shaver as Chairperson of the Canada Development Investment Corporation. The proposed reappointment will be referred to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance for review. Dr. Shaver, a native of Cambridge, Ontario, has served as Chairperson of the Canada Development Investment Corporation since 1995. He is founder and past president of Shaver Poultry Breeding Farms Limited, which distributed its products in 94 countries worldwide. An Officer of the Order of Canada, Dr. Shaver has been active in his community, serving as a Director of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Board and the Board of Governors of the University of Guelph, and as Council Chairman of the Developing Countries Farm Radio Network.
