Minister of Finance Ralph Goodale to Meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow in Calgary and Fort McMurray, Alberta, on July 8-9, 2005

Following is a detailed schedule of the meetings.

Note: All times are local.

Minister Goodale and Secretary Snow will travel to Fort McMurray to visit the oil sands development and meet with senior executives from Suncor Energy, Syncrude Canada Limited, Albian Sands and Canadian Natural Resources Limited.

They will take part in an aerial tour of the oil sands and will tour Suncor’s Millennium Mine.

There will be a photo opportunity following the tour of the mine.

Media interested in taking part in the photo opportunity must register ahead of time with Brenda Erskine, Director, Communications and Community Relations, Suncor Energy, at (780) 743-6480.

Media must arrive on site at 10:15 a.m.

Minister Goodale and Secretary Snow will be available to the media in Stephen Room A&B, 3rd Floor, Hyatt Regency Calgary.

Minister Goodale and Secretary Snow will hold a bilateral meeting in the Bannerman/Walker Room, 3rd Floor, Hyatt Regency Calgary.

There will be a photo opportunity at the start of the meeting. CAMERAS ONLY. Media must arrive at 7:45 a.m.

Minister Goodale and Secretary Snow will be available to the media in Stephen Room A&B, 3rd Floor, Hyatt Regency Calgary.
