The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, to Address the Canadian Urban Transit Association Fall Conference and Trans-Expo

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, will be the guest speaker at the Canadian Urban Transit Association Fall Conference and Trans-Expo 2006 on Monday, November 6, 2006. The Minister will begin his address at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Minister Flaherty will discuss the steps Canada’s New Government is taking to encourage the use of public transit, strengthen infrastructure, and reduce the tax burden to create a more competitive and prosperous economy for Canadian families and businesses.

The event will take place in the Concert Hall at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, 100 Front Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

Following his address, the Minister will also hold a media availability.
