Results for Canadians: A Management Framework for the Government of
Canada
Building a Representative Federal Public Service
Change has become a constant reality making our world more complex. The
impact of globalization has become apparent beyond the economic sector.
Information technology is changing not only the way we communicate, but also
the way we do business.
The future of the Canadian Public Service will also be shaped by change.
Demographic changes, evolving federalism, e-government, creating a learning
organization, and sustaining a diverse and professional workforce will all
represent a continuum of change.
The federal workforce will soon be required to anticipate change rather
than to react to it. Old skills have to be renewed and new ones acquired.
A challenge for the federal Public Service is to provide a supportive
workplace where employees develop the skills and core competencies to
perform and excel in a changing environment.
The EEPMP is a catalyst program to promote knowledge about and develop
skills in employment equity, diversity and human resources management.
