Corporate Profile
The Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) has the authority to purchase, store,

commitments; to investigate matters relating to the production, processing or
marketing of any dairy product; and to help promote the use of dairy products.
CDC advises the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food on matters relating to
dairy policy and determines domestic requirements for industrial milk and cream
for purposes of establishing Market Sharing Quota. It also establishes the
target price for industrial milk, sets support prices for butter and skim milk
powder, and offers to purchase products at these prices.
Through its research and advisory functions, as well as its facilitative
efforts on behalf of the Canadian Milk Supply Management Committee, CDC helps to
build the consensus among industry players and governments that underlies the
orderly marketing of dairy products in Canada.
