Graduation

1. GRADUATION

Together with the Program Advisors and the AETP Program Officers, participants who are entering their final year on the Program prepare their resumes to be circulated to departments and agencies with vacancies in their policy sectors. The participants' resumés, along with a covering letter from the Chair of the AETP, are sent to all Department Heads. The letter explains that the participants qualify for positions at the intermediate level. Successful participants graduate from the Program at the end of June.

2. UNSUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM

Participants who are unsuccessful at the ES-04 promotion board have failed to demonstrate that they meet the Program requirements. In that event, the Steering Committee decides on the actions to be taken based on the merit of each case.

The Steering Committee will consider the following actions:

  • that efforts be made to find the participant alternate employment at a group and level equivalent to ES-03, for which the participant is qualified; OR

  • that the participant be rejected on probation which would result in the removal from the Program and termination of employment from the federal Public Service following a one month notice.
