Program Responsibilities - Roles and responsibilities of the parties involved in the MTP

• Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada (PSHRMAC) - Responsible to develop policies and to manage the Program, including recruit candidates
• Canada School of Public Service (CSPS) - Responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the educational component of the MTP
• Trainee - participant to the MTP
• Sponsoring Organization - Responsible for the initial appointment of candidates and for the final placement of Trainees
• Supervisor or Manager - Responsible to coach and evaluate the Trainee during his/her assignment
• Organizational Coordinator - Responsible for the coordination of the MTP within an organization
• Mentor - Responsible for acting as a guide and role model

Development Components

Assignments - Work experience providing Trainees with practical experience and opportunities and develop managerial abilities
Training - Information on the educational component of the MTP, including language training
Mentoring - Supportive learning relationship between an individual who shares his/her knowledge, experience and insights with a Trainee

Progression in the program

Performance Review and Evaluation - Formal process of evaluation taking place at the end of each assignment
Promotion - Information on promotion steps and promotion boards, including roles and responsibilities
Graduation and Appointment - Guidelines and processes at the end of the Program
